World War I began on the 28th of July 1914 when Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia, and continued through to the 11th of November 1918, and the signage of the Treaty of Versailles in 1919. There were many causes of World War I, such as the arms race between Germany and Great Britain, imperialism, previous conflicts, the alliances between nations, and democracy conflicting with autocracy. The more short term causes of the war include the Moroccan crisis, lack of communications between countries, and the mobilisation of the Russian army. Early Life
Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni was born just outside of Florence, on the 6th of March 1475, to a family of small bankers. At the time, it wasn’t considered a proper job to become an artist, and so it was at the relatively late age of thirteen that Michelangelo was finally allowed by his family to become an apprentice.
Michelangelo became an apprentice to Domenico Ghirlandago, a well known painter, under a three year contract. He left only after a year though, claiming to have learnt all that he needed.
